A job in Xero Practice Manager is a project or any piece of work users complete for a client.
Now with XPM Jobs, when preparing documents in CAS360, users can instantly add the job to their practice management application at a click of a button.
This removes the need for users to go to their practice management application, after preparing documents in CAS 360, and enter in a job for that client and mark it as complete or in progress.
Prior to using the XPM Jobs feature for the first time, please ensure that the following tasks have been completed first:
- Ensure that the Contacts Integrations is turned on - Refer to BGL and Xero Practice Manager (XPM) Integration.
- Create the BGL Job Templates in XPM - Refer to How to create BGL Job Template in Xero Practice Manager?.
How does this work?
When in the Document Production screen, toggle beside 'Add Job to Xero Practice Manager?'
CAS 360 will open a Xero Practice Manager - Job Integration panel
|Client||The client's name. The Client field will search your Global Contacts screen for a client name.|
|Template||Select from a list of XPM job templates. These templates will be gathered from your practice manager application.|
|Description||Enter a description for the job|
|Schedule Information||Enter a start and due date for the job,|
|Staff||Select from a list of staff members. This list will be gathered from your practice manager application.|
Once the user clicks and the job is created, users are able to review the costs for the job,
|Allows users to edit the Date, Cost Description, Billable, Quantity, Unit Cost and Unit Price details|
|Allows users to add another line item|
|Click Confirm to save and confirm the Job costs.|
Now when you Download or Send the company documents from the Document Production screen, a new Job will be automatically created in your Practice Manager account.
